How I Became a Restaurant Consultant

“My journey to becoming a consultant happened by accident—and it turned out to be the most fulfilling direction I could’ve taken.

In my early years, I explored different business ventures and worked across the restaurant and retail industries: from drive-thru cashier, food prep, sales, customer service, and management. I was searching for purpose while quietly building a solid foundation of skills, insights, and business acumen. Around that time, I launched a creative startup that built storefront signage for businesses.

One of my restaurant clients shared the challenges their team was facing. I offered a few ideas, and they gave me the green light to step in and see what could change. I went all in—hands-on—to prove those ideas would work. That opportunity turned into something bigger: I helped generate new revenue, increase profits, save costs, boost staff morale, and implement initiatives that still run today.

I had realized something important: these businesses didn’t just need ideas. They needed someone who could deliver.

Even then, I hadn’t considered changing career paths until a mid-size franchise GM introduced me as their consultant. That was the moment everything clicked and realized I was behaving like one.
